Research by Passenger Focus, the independent consumer watchdog, has revealed that, "A third of employers said they are not happy with the price of the train ticket – 35 per cent said it was too expensive. A quarter of businesses would like to see fares reduced between 31 and 50 per cent."
Given the findings, it’s not surprising that many organisations are turning to Destinations to help save rail costs. Did you know there are a number of different ways to price a journey? If you're relying on station staff or your regular travel agent, then you’re probably being quoted standard pricing.
Case Study
Case Study: A 42% Saving, and an upgrade to First class.
One of our clients was travelling from Norwich to Salisbury in Wiltshire. A day return fare would have cost him £122 travelling in standard class. By splitting the tickets and suggesting a slightly later departure time, we were able to upgrade him to First class travel whilst lowering the fare to £70, that’s a 42% saving.
Naturally, our customer was delighted with the savings. Not only that, he was now travelling in comfort and was able to work in the peace and quiet of a first class compartment.
